about

“I wrote this song for a close friend who lost her brother after our first lockdown in Perth. He faced a very long battle with depression, which tragically took his life. With a heavy heart, I couldn’t stop thinking about my friend who has faced many battles with her own mental health. I wanted to send her my love and tell her how precious she is to me, so I sat down and wrote her this song. Sometimes we all feel alone and disconnected in this world, and I hope that ‘Just for You’ can be a song to comfort people in hard times.”

lyrics

Just for You
Joan & The Giants
I was always good at feelings
I was never good at speaking
So I’ll turn again to singing
Write a song that’s just for you

The day you came my wheels stopped spinning
I could finally bear the breathing
When the darkness turned to beauty
And my heartache turned to healing

I will hold you till you notice
That my skin is on your skin
Until you know somebody loves you
Until the thought has settled in

Dig a little deeper
And watch my walls come down
Scream a little louder
Let your tears fall to the ground
And I will tell you that I love you
Until my body is cold
I will tell you that I need you
Until the stormy days are done

You and I have walked the distance
Climbed the mountains in-between us
Sometimes words can’t find the reason
But my heart has led the way

And I will hold you till you notice
That my skin is on your skin
Until you know somebody loves you
Until the thought has settled in

Dig a little deeper
And watch my walls come down
Scream a little louder
Let your tears fall to the ground
And I will tell you that I love you
Until my body is cold
I will tell you that I need you
Until the stormy days are done

I will hold ya
Feel my skin on your skin x 4

Dig a little deeper
And watch my walls come down
Scream a little louder
Till your tears fall to the ground
And I will tell you that I love you
Until my body is cold
I will tell you that I need you
Until the stormy days are done

Dig a little deeper
And watch my walls come down
Scream a little louder
Let your tears fall to the ground
And I will tell you that I love you
Until my body is cold
I will tell you that I need you
Until the stormy days are done

The sunset always looks so dreamy
When a fire has blazed the sky
In the hardest times I hold on
To the thought of your smile
